Manoj
Mathasseril who draws under the same nom-de-plume was born on 29th December 1969, at Ernakulam
as the son of P.K. Jayashankar Pillai and M. Rajalakshmy . He is married to Anu and
has a son, Bharat.
Manoj
is
a Mechanical Engineer and he is
the Managing Partner of Ms Powertool World, an engineering concern, at Kochi.
A self-taught cartoonist and artist,he runs a daily popular column in Metro
Manorama, Kochi.
He is equally at ease with colours and has so far conducted four solo
exhibitions including one organised by the Kerala Lalitha
Kala Academy.
Manoj has also scripted satires for various channels.
Manoj has bagged an award in the cartoon contest heldin 2012 by the Department of Excise, Kerala in association with the Kerala Lalitha Kala Academy. On an award spree, Manoj added to the tally by bagging the first prize in the cartoon contest ' മാവേലിക്കാഴ്ച 2012-ഇൽ ' (The Kerala as seen by Maveli in 2012) conducted by Malayala Manorama daily in 2012.
