Jayaraj Vellur

Jayaraj Vellur who draws under the nom-de-plume of ‘Jayaraj Vellur’ was born on 15th February 1964, at Vellur as the son of V V Krishnan and M V. Narayani. He is married to Raji. He has two daughters, Sreyaja and Sreshaja.

He has a Masters in Communication & Journalism and runs a cartoon column named ‘Vakrarekha’ ( Gaddika, Payyanur). At present he is Superintendent with KSEB. He got several prizes in cartoon contests from the Kerala Cartoon Academy and Hasyavedi. He also bagged a Merit Certificate in “ The Hindustan Times’ Annual Cartoon Contest in 1996. Further, he also got the Best Cartoon Prize in Science Cartoon Contest by “Science Reporter ” in 2001

He now lives at “Narayani”, Kaniyeri, Vellur, Kannur, Kerala - 670307
