Vengara who draws under the nom-de-plume
of ‘ GIREESH VENGARA’ was born on 3rd November 1970, at Vengara, Kannur
as the son of Krishnan and Devaki. He is married to Savitha. He has
two children, a daughter named Abhijhna and a son named Aditya Krishna.
He is a B.A.
and holds a Diploma in Fine Arts. He runs a
Cartoon Column named ‘A trip With
Me’ and is a freelance Cartoonist in Vijaytimes English daily, Bangalore.
He was selected as the best cartoonist in Cartoon camp conducted by Kerala Cartoon Academy
and Brushman School of fine arts at Kannur. He has
received many accolades some among which are: Kerala Cartoon Academy Award in
Caricature in 1989 and 1990, Award from Kerala Press Academy Cartoon
competition in 1989, Award from 'Hasyavedi' , Award in Cartoon from Public
Relations Department in connection with Tourism Week Celebration 1989.
