Ajoy Kumar D
Ajoy Kumar D who draws under the nom-de-plume ‘AJOY’ was born on 02th April 1970, at Trivandrum as the son of P. Dayanandan and Vasanthy. He is married to Tina.
After doing his schooling in Kerala, Ajoy kumar did his M.A.Concept Art for Game and Animation in the United Kingdom. He also obtained his B.A. degree in Digital Character Animation, also in the U.K. as also an HNC in Animation from Scotland.
He further did a short course in Film Production in The Cultural Foundation in Abu Dhabi, a course in Macromedia Flash from Dubai and completed the DHMS from Padiyar Memorial Homeo College
His first cartoon was published in ‘Chandrika’ and ‘Madhyamam’
He also did a number of Solo and Group Pinting Exhibitions in Kerala , AbuDhabi , UAE and the U.K.
Further, in 2003 – he received 2nd Prize in the making of a short film project competed during course. His caricature was published in 2003 & 2004 in the annual Zemun Caricature Contest.
Then again, In 1993 – he received 3rd Prize and In 1992 – he received 2nd Prize in the Hindustan Times Annual National Caricature Contest. In 1992 – he received First Prize in the State Caricature Contest conducted by Kerala Cartoon Academy. In 1983-90 he received several prizes for Painting ,cartooning and Caricature during his School / college .
He now lives at No.7 , Oliver Street , Middlesbrough , TS5 6JH , United Kingdom.
