Unnikrishnan who draws under the nom-de-plume ‘UNNIKRISHNAN’ itself was born on 21st May 1968, at Pala as the son of A.M.K.Namboodiri and Leelavathy Thampatty. He is married to Rajitha. He has one son named Induchoodan.
He hold an M.A. degree and a Diploma in Journalism.
He runs the Monday Cartoon in Mathrubhumi Daily and english Cartoon corner in Mathrubhumi.com/english/cartoon . He has a cartoon column named Pravasi in gulf feature and Cinikumar in Chitrabhumi.
He bagged the Trivandrum Press Club award in 2007 and in 2009 and The Kerala Lalaita Kala Academy Honourable Mention award in 2009 and 2010.
He works as Chief Sub Editor in Mathrubhumi Daily,Thrissur.
He is the present Chairman of Kerala Cartoon Academy
