Ajit Ninan
Ajit Ninan Mathew who draws under the nom-de-plume 'NINAN' was born on 15th May 1955, in Andhra Pradesh as the son of A M Mathew and Annie Mathew. He is married to Elizabeth Ninan. He has two daughters, Samyukta and Aparajita.
He studied at Madras Christian College, Tambaram, Chennai from 1972 to 1977 and has B.A and MA. degrees in Political Science. He has many cartoon columns to his credit , for example, his columns in all editions of Times Of India namely : Just Like That -daily, Like That Only -biweekly, CEOtoons in Biz -daily, Wit's End -in Crest Weekly,
He got the Sanskriti Award for Journalism in 1986 and was selected by UN/IPS to be the official cartoonist for all it's conference newspapers in Rio, Copenhagen, Austria , Cairo and China. He worked in India Today, Indian Express, Outlook and now is in Times Of India.
His other interests include: Loves to cook (on all Saturdays) and to wash dishes and clean the curio:-)
