S Mohanachhandran who draws under the nom-de-plume  of ‘S MOHAN’ was born on 20th April 1951, at Thevalakkara, Kollam as the son of N Sivarama Pillai and G Chellamma Pillai. He is married to B. Vijayalekshmi. He  has three children, Smitha, Soumya and Soorya.

Started Career as cartoonist in Malayala Rajyam weekly in1970. Political cartoons published in Janayugam daily and other publications. Manayilan is the pseudonym used while writing humorous articles. Retired from State Treasury department. He died on 2022.
